SPEAKER FOR EVENTS, TRADE SHOWS, ASSOCIATIONS

KEYNOTE, LECTURER, TRAINER, TEA TASTING

Experience and credentials:

Jennifer Petersen is a professional speaker and trainer and conducts on-site training and motivational seminars for companies and associations. She is also a consultant on tea etiquette, business and social etiquette, and international protocol. She is a graduate of the Protocol School of Washington, attended North Carolina State University and is currently attending Washington State University.

Owner of Carnelian Rose Tea Co. for over 13 years, Jennifer has created signature tea blends for tea rooms and coffee shops as well as private label blends.  She operated a tea room and gift shop for over 12 years, expanding the operation three times over its course.

Ms. Petersen served on the Specialty Tea Institute's Tea Advisory Board for more than ten years.  Petersen served on STI's Foundations of Tea development committee.  In 2005, she chaired the STI Tea Symposium in Seattle, Washington and is a frequently requested speaker/trainer at industry trade shows.
"Although tea consumes the major portion of my time, I recognize the importance of the business side of tea.  A tea or tea/coffee business owner who does not make a profit nor operate efficiently is a business owner who has a working hobby.  And as we all know, 'working hobby' is not an accepted form of payment at the grocery store.  I love hearing the swift intake of breath as sippers take their first sip of a lovely tea or exclaim "Wow!" when servers set a food-laden tiered tray on the dining table.

Favorite saying: "Tea Land is a happy place!" From the business side of tea life and training, my second favorite saying is:  "You can't take "Wow!" to Safeway."

Featured occasionally in print media, her business and etiquette articles have appeared in the Vancouver Business Journal and Portland's Metro Parent.  Fresh Cup featured her in the Fresh Cup Tea Almanac and she has been featured numerous times in The Columbian's food, living, and holiday sections. She is an occasional etiquette resource consultant for CBS News NY and for PBS-Oregon.

An eager student of most topics, Ms. Petersen's forte is her ability to form strategic alliances with those involved in similar areas of expertise.
